We fell in love during the campaign. The stakes were high. Reputations could have been ruined. Scandal hovered over us like a cloud. Now the man I love is the President of the United States of America. And it's not my vote he's after. He wants it all - my heart, my body, my soul. He wants me by his side. In the White House. Normalcy will be gone from my life, privacy forgotten.
I am only 23. I just wanted to play a part in history. But it seems like history wasn't done with me. The part where I lost my heart to Matthew Hamilton? It was only the beginning.
Much like my feelings for Mr. President, Commander in Chief was a good listen, but if not a tad boring. I still enjoyed the characters, but there wasn’t much excitement coursing through the story.
Commander in Chief basically just chronicled the life of Charlotte and Matthew in the White House, over a course of four years. I almost feel like the two books could have been combined into one longer book, cutting out parts in each. Maybe cut out some of the sex scenes, cuz, baby there were a lot of them!
The narration was good, but again, Charlotte was only in her early to mid-twenties but the narrator sounded a lot older. It just kinda of threw me off. Overall, I’m dishing out a 3.5-star rating because the story was compelling at parts. But mostly because I really enjoy author Katy Evans.
